A place to explore, train and create new skills and have loads of fun and laughter.

Mission: Is to provide a variety of high quality dance for all ages and abilities in the community.  We aim to discover styles, develop skills, demonstrate learning and increase participants health and well-being.

This is a fun, friendly fab first class for your little ones. Students will learn basic movement skills, while enjoying music and playing games.

Class content Pointe/flex toes, stretching, turning, follow the leader, counting, plies (bending knees), marching, jumps, chaise (gallops), use of props, walking & running on balls of feet, storytelling, poems, songs, games.

This class is for advanced hip-hop dancers and performers. This class is for those that would like to progress from our standard hip-hop to advanced level. You will compete at hip-hop competition locally, nationally and internationally representing studio2.

NB: Previous dance experience preferred but not essential.

Children have a natural, innate desire and ability to dance. ‘Create’ will encourage and unlock your child’s natural potential whilst fostering inventiveness and build physical confidence as movement technique progresses and develops.

Create 6 - 9 Years

Children aged 6 – 9 years begin to build physical co-ordination and confidence. Create classes offers them the opportunity to shape their own imaginative movement sequences and dance phrases.

Create’ 10 Years +

 Older children are introduced to the foundations of contemporary dance technique. They will have the opportunity to work together creatively and, with Carie’s guidance, devise movement of work of their own.

Vanessa is a member of the Associated Board of Dance training students in Tap, Ballet, Acrobatics and musical Theatre. She is a professional dancer of worldwide acclaim with years of experience to pass on to her students, having started her own dance journey at the age of 3.

Linda & Lisa has travelled all over the UK & Ireland to participate in major competitions such as ‘The World Championships’, and Ulster Championships. The School focuses on making the dance floor ‘Legenderry’ in a fun, safe environment with no obligation or pressure to compete. Legenderry Irish dance is registered with An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaellacha.

We provide a variety of high quality theatrical forms & productions for all ages and abilities in the community.  We aim to discover acting styles, stage & production techniques, develop skills as artists by collaborative processes through our three strand approach.

By hosting Theatrical Performance’s and enabling inclusive participation we can transform the lives of individuals & communities in many positive ways by enhancing their self-esteem, confidence, health and well-being.

Page to Stage workshops the proven formula to taking a script from a few pages to a professional theatre production. If you’ve always wanted to see your work performed on stage, and you’ve made the first steps at writing; or if you’re stuck and in need of inspiration; or if you’d like to find out what your script might sound like on stage – all in the company of like-minded writers, actors and theatre enthusiasts – then these sessions are for you. More than half of new plays in the North West over the past few years have come through the Page to Stage process.

CCÉ Baile na gCailleach/Traditional Irish Programme

This programme will allow offer you an eclectic spread of music and cultural activities.  We aim to expand skills of participants as well as encouraging and developing new ones.

Singing

In a relaxed and friendly environment participants will sing a mixture of Traditional Irish songs, which will enhance your well-being by using breathing techniques and increased verbal communication.  These classes could lead to the formation of a traditional Irish Choir.

Dance

We offer classes in Irish & Ceili dancing with an emphasis on developing skills and movement in these dance genres.  Our classes will cater for both those with experience and beginners and teams can be formed to enter at competition level such as the Derry Feis, Derry Fleadh or all Ireland Fleadh.

Carnival, Festival & Culture @ Studio 2

The aim of Studio 2 is to promote integration, celebrate cultural diversity and heritage, inform and educate people about the different, diverse cultures of ethnic communities in Ireland through its many annual Festival Parades.

Youth & Social Inclusion Programme (Education Authority) – ‘Outer North Youth Arts’ Aged 16-21 Years

This programme uses the Arts to transform and alleviate social problems within our communities.  The visionary approach we have designed is to inspire and engage young people of the Outer North area of the city.  It offers an extensive menu of innovative creative arts activities and creative pathways for our young people to experience the magic of the arts at every level in the heart of their own communities.

Programme aims and objectives:
  • To help young people access and increase participation of the arts in areas of high deprivation
  • To encourage young people to engage in dance, drams, music, carnival & visual arts within communities and to help create new work
  • To engage in cross-community and inter-generational projects
  • To provide opportunity for young people to develop skills as artists through collaborative processes with professional mentors
  • Use the arts to promote local heritage and histor

Visual & Digital Arts @ Studio 2

Our visual and digital arts programmes focuses on professional and artistic development, research, and creative production in digital and visual arts. We currently offer Oil Painting for Beginners as well as making your own Digital Comic Book.

‘The Eye Of The Painter’ workshop, a course open to people of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to intermediates. This course will cover some of the crucial fundamentals to successful painting, such as colour, drawing, values of light, composition and edges.

Winner of Carson McDowell Award for painting 2009, exhibited locally and nationally and was finalist in the Mall Galleries in Central London. Tommy’s painting was chosen from over 2000, the UK’s most prestigious painting award, The Lynn Stainers Prize.

We offer Tai Chi Classes with Master Zhu Chang Hai. This programme of health and well-being is suitable for all from young to old. Tai Chi will teach you physical elements that have numerous health benefits incorporating breathing techniques that will nurture and relax the body. Allowing the physical, emotional and mental body to soften and relax, supporting and improving the immune system, nervous system and mental health.
